NYE Makeup Look: Gilded Lids and Red Lips & Tips

Can you believe that Christmas is in less than a week and half??  And that 2013 will be here in just a few weeks?!  I've been playing around with different looks to celebrate the new year.  I love golds and reds for the holidays.  Yes, very typical, but to me these colors just scream festivity.  Here is a look that I came up for a New Year's Eve celebration: gold lids and red lips and tips.  

For this NYE look, I wanted to use makeup that would last through an all-night celebration.  I've had Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Gold Shimmer for a while, untouched, just waiting on my counter to be used.  I thought this was the perfect opportunity!  I love Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadows because they're super easy to apply, stay put, and don't crease.  Gold Shimmer, a limited edition fall shade was especially creamy.  It left my lids with a nice sheen and solid base for the glittery gold shadow of my beloved Dior Fairy Golds palette, which I patted on while the cream shadow was still moist.  Since this is a NYE look, I wanted really dramatic lashes and applied a pair of falsies that would give me a very bright-eyed look.  I kept my eyes fairly simple in order to balance the look with red lips.  To finish off this look, I applied Essie's Leading Lady to my nails, which in my opinion tied the look together.
