What do I do on my one day off before going back to work? Run to my nearest Burberry counter to check out the Spring/Summer 2013 Collection of course!! I've proclaimed in my posts how much of a Burberry beauty fan that I am and the spring collection (not surprising) stole my heart. I took lots of pictures for those beauties who don't have access to a Burberry counter and I hope you enjoy them.
I swatched Gold Pearl No. 26 eyeshadow for my lovely readers even though I knew this wouldn't really show up on my medium skin. It's a lovely shimmery cool gold which would look great as a highlighter for those with fair skin.
In the pan, Coral Pink No. 09 is a medium coral-pink that leans warm whereas Hydrangea Pink No. 10 is a cool, poppy pink. Coral Pink and Hydrangea Pink look obviously different in the pan and when swatched heavily on my skin, but look very similar when applied to my cheeks. In typical Burberry beauty fashion, these blushes are finely-milled which makes them so easy to blend. These two are very pigmented so you need a light hand to achieve a natural look. I applied these to my cheeks after dabbing excess on my the back of my hand.

I was mainly interested in swatching the blushes, but once I saw the lip glosses, my hand gravitated towards the closest lip brush applicator and immediately dove into Coral No. 22 head first. From the tube, Coral looked like it would be too orange and shimmery, but once applied to my lips it became the perfect coral lip gloss for me. I knew I was in trouble since this was the color that I was least interested in before heading to the Burberry counter at Nordstrom. The next color that I tried was Mallow Pink No. 19. This color looked like a warm strawberry on my lips, another winner for a natural spring look. I wanted to end my lip swatching with the color that I was most interested in-- Pink Sweet Pea No. 20, a limited edition Lip Glow, that was a sheer hot pink on my lips. This was also the color that I chose to pair the blush swatches with since I thought I'd go home with Hydrangea Pink. The counter didn't have Fondant Pink No. 21 for me to try.
For those who have never tried Burberry Lip Glow lip glosses, these feel moisturizing on my lips and I tend to have dry, chapped, flaky lips. These glosses do not make my lips peel and they last about 4 hours on me without eating or drinking. These three leave a slight stain after removal.

| Post swatch fest! |
I'm actually wearing one of each blush color on my cheeks and thought I'd walk out of Nordstrom looking funny. In reality, I look like I'm wearing only one blush color.
In the picture below, you have to look very carefully to notice that Coral Pink is the slightest bit warm whereas Hydrangea Pink is the slightest bit cool.

I've already ordered all three lip glosses that I swatched today. All three are so different and I love the bold and bright colors that Burberry has added to their collection of neutral Lip Glows. I didn't feel the need to have them right away and I wanted to get the GWP that's offered on Nordstrom.com right now. Of course I had to leave with the blushes since for whatever reason, I'm obsessed with blushes right now and I couldn't decide between the two. Do you need both? Probably not, especially if you tend to wear your blush naturally. If you like to wear a bold cheek or are a fan of Burberry blushes, these two will be lovely additions to your collection.
The Light Glow blushes retail for $42 and the Lip Glow glosses for $27. Both can be found at Nordstrom and Burberry's website.
I hope you enjoyed my swatch fest...I sure did! If you've enjoyed this post, please follow my site or subscribe. I'm hoping to post a bright cheek/nude lip FOTD soon!

DeleteI want the hydrangea pink so bad!! It looks so bright and beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a GORGEOUS poppy pink!
DeleteWhoaaa you got both blushes??? Lucky you! I don't know when the collection will be available here but I sure hope it's soon. I need to try a Burberry blush because everybody raves about them!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll fall in love with the formula. They last long too! I swatched the blushes at 1pm and by 9om they were only slightly faded. I also tend to touch my face a lot so 8 hrs is pretty good.
DeleteI'm in love with the new lipglosses - I never tend to gravitate towards glosses, but these just look amazing. Glad to hear they work well with chapped lips because I have problems with that too!
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd be able to pick just one but I couldn't. ;)
Deletethanks for the visit!

Haha yeah I thought Coral Pink was the one on your left cheek. Whoops! Just goes to show how similar they really are! *sigh* Ah well, they're still gorgeous and I can't wait to see how it looks on me!
ReplyDeleteI don't think getting both is necessary but I sometimes like to wear a bold cheek so of course I had to get them. :)
DeleteThey've just started selling Burberry more widely here will need to have a proper look! x
