I'm a BIG FAN of anything that stays put on my tend-to-be-oily eyelids and that includes Maybelline's Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows. I was at Target right before the new year looking for last minute things for my holiday vacation. I just happened to come across a few new products including this Color Tattoo "Metal" formula. I'm not sure if this is a limited edition shade or not, but I thought that this bold blue would be perfect for an upcoming Las Vegas trip with my friends.

I've experienced nothing but good things with Maybelline Color Tattoos, especially the extra creamy shimmery shades so I was all game for this Electric Blue color. This line of Color Tattoos are part of the Metal collection, and though they can be sheered out (as pictured below), once layered on my lids, I was able to achieve a metallic-like sheen that popped in pictures. I found Electric Blue to be extra creamy, even creamier than my fave Bad to the Bronze. Generally, I find the shimmery colors to be easier to work with and blend than the more matte colors such as Tough as Taupe. Applied sheer, this does come out patchy, but layering rids of this nuisance. I like to apply a layer and let it set for a bit before building up to a desired intensity.
I wore this shadow alone and layered along with black liquid eyeliner and thick false lashes for an easy to do, but hard to forget eye look for a girls' night out. I also rimmed my inner tear duct with a cool white shadow for a brightening effect. Not once did this shadow crease, fade, or run while my gals and I were dancing in a hot and crowded club. Oh, and did I mention that the metallic aspect of this shadow photographs really well?
Bottom line: If you're a fan of the Color Tattoo collection or are looking for bright bold creamy shadows that won't budge, I highly recommend you check this out. These shadows retail for about $5-7, depending on where you buy them and if they're on sale (very likely). I bought this at Target, but they can be found at Ulta, Walgreens and CVS.

I've never tried any blue eye shadows, I'm a "nudes" girl, but this one looks awesome on you!

I'm more of a nude shadow gal myself, but when in Vegas... ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm SUCH a fan of these color tattoos! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMe too! And you're welcome ;)
DeleteHold the phone, this is even creamier than Bad to the Bronze? Whoa!
ReplyDeleteI embrace colors but I am a little skeptical about blue. You look way nice though! Your eyes stand out without being over the top!
Yes, creamier. :) I'm surprised that I gravitated to this blue, but I thought it would match perfectly with my top. Only in Vegas!
DeleteI like the idea of wearing blue but in reality it never looks good on me. I wish it did as I love blue.
ReplyDeleteMaybe try a blue eyeliner. It's an easy way to try color. :)

DeleteLove your going out eye makeup! Stunning on you!
ReplyDeleteI agree, those Color Tattoos are seriously amazing. And coming from someone who has oily eyelids, I agree with you. They do not budge!
Thank you! Have you picked up any of these "Metal" color tattoos?
DeleteThat blue colour looks amazing! I love the smokey eye you've done with it! Now I might just have to buy it hahah x
ReplyDeleteIt's a really fun color to wear, especially because I usually wear a neutral/simple look for everyday.
