Floating in Bubbles with LUSH Yuzu & Cocoa Bubbleroon

It's been a while since I've had a bubble bath.  I only say this now because I feel like lately I've been reading many rave reviews for the Lush brand and it's had me intrigued.  I walked into Lush a few weeks ago and I have to admit that I was a little overwhelmed by all of the scents and products on little wooden pedestals for all to see.  I knew I wanted bath products so I made a beeline for the bubble bars and I was immediately drawn to the sweet, citrus-y scent of the Yuzu & Cocoa  Bubbleroon.

I chose to only use half, as I've read some blogs that the bubble bars, or any of their bars for that matter, can be cut into smaller pieces for more than one bath. Since this macaroon-looking "bar" was easy to split, I chose to test out the Lush waters with just half. In between the "macaroon" parts is a cream which I believe is the moisturizing component.  I was told by a sales associate that the Bubbleroons are a bit of a hybrid between the bubble bars and bath melts. I crushed half of the macaroon as instructed by the sales associate, and immediately I had a tub full of bubbles! The bath water turned a light orange color but unfortunately, the bubbles didn't last very long.   Less than 10 minutes into the bath and the bubbles were nearly extinct.

In the bath, I could feel the moisturizing component of the bubble bar and my skin felt silky smooth, as if it was somewhat coated in a lotion in the bath for lack of better words. The only downside to this particular bubble bar is that it irritated my skin a bit after the bath was over. I have sensitive skin and I don't know what I was sensitive or allergic to, but my skin felt itchy for a couple of hours after the bath. Though this didn't completely work out for me, I'm still willing to give Lush a try since it's raved about in the beauty blogging world.

I also purchased the Magic Mushroom which is limited edition for Valentine's Day, You've Been Mangoed and Big Blue and I'm crossing my fingers that I have better luck with these.

Have you tried Lush before and if so, what do you like or love?

  1. I like some bath oils and solid oils, but I don't like solid shampoos by LUSH. Sorry to hear this bubble bar irritated your skin!

    1. I was bummed out too because it smelled lovely. Hopefully the other bath products I bought will work out better for me. :)

  2. I've tried some of these bath bombs but it was years ago! I don't have a bathtub in my apartment, and to be honest I just don't have the patience for a bath. Maybe when I have my own house and can install a TV in the bathroom things will change ;)

    1. I didn't have a bathtub for a while and always said that if I did, I'd take baths for "me time." Now that I have one, I need to make use of it. ;)
