From a recent Nordstrom beauty purchase, I received a makeup bag with a bunch of samples. Included in my gift-with-purchase was a Oscar Blandi Texture & Volume Spray. I was delighted that this was part of the GWP because I've wanted to try Oscar Blandi for a while.
I had high hopes for my first experience with Oscar Blandi and unfortunately, this product fell short of my expectations. Immediately upon spraying onto my dry hair, I noticed an unpleasant smell, the kind of smell that permeated salons back in the day when getting a perm was a fad. It's one thing for a smell to be unpleasant upon application, it's another thing for it to linger. This Oscar Blandi smell stayed in my hair well into the half hour mark, which was enough for me to know that this product wasn't for me.
I will say that it did add texture, but I can't vouch for the volumizing properties as I didn't spray this into my roots, and fortunately, limp hair isn't something that I have to deal with.
Bottom line: If you want texture in your hair and aren't sensitive to smells, this product might be up your alley. If pleasant smells are a big part of your beauty experience, then you might want to pass on this product.

Ah that's too bad! I have the yellow bottle version of this, and actually loved the smell! It smelled like lemon but dissipated after a while anyway! I almost bought this today - kind of glad I didn't now!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found one that smells nice.

DeleteToo bad about the scent :/ I am SO picky about how my hair smells--I'm sure I would hate this!
ReplyDeleteMe too! One of my fave smells is Moroccan Oil brand hairspray.
