Tea Time & Textures OOTD

Last weekend a friend and I went to Afternoon Tea at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.  Nowadays with my hectic schedule, I rarely get the chance to dress up and be girly, so when we finally committed to tea time (after talking about it for so long), I knew what outfit I had in mind.

The key to dressing up in the bay area when the sun is out but the air is nippy is layer, layer, layer!  The Palace Hotel is located amidst tall buildings and the plentiful shade can make the temperature cold and brisk while you'll find yourself peeling off layers once you get into the sun.

I decided to play with textures for this outfit, mixing a silky-soft dress with a chunky cable-knit scarf, a spikey bangle with a soft quilted leather bag.  I love the color combination of blue and peach which was the color scheme for my outfit.  Scroll down for more pictures.

My bangle matched the serving set.
On a side note, the tea sandwiches and fresh baked goodies were absolutely delicious!  At the end of the day, I seriously needed to walk off my meal.  I guess it was convenient that Union Square was right around the corner for me to shop to my heart's content.

When you walk into the hotel, the first thing you see is a beautiful garden court where Afternoon Tea is held. The high ceilings are adorned with crystal chandeliers and the dining area is lined with tall marble columns and beautiful foliage.
